A first day at a new job can be a little stressful. There’s a new environment, new people, and plenty of unknown expectations. But having a dog around can make everything easier, especially when that dog is a Yellow Labrador Retriever named Fred, who is having the time of his life in the hot tub.
Private chef Mai got quite the welcome when she arrived at a new client’s home and discovered Fred putting on a show just outside the kitchen. She shared her absolutely hilarious view from her first day on the job, and let’s just say this good boy would make it hard to get anything done.

If you’re a dog lover like me, you’re probably thinking this looks like one of the best first days ever. Fred wasn’t simply having a relaxing spa day in his family’s hot tub. He was chasing the waves he was creating, biting at the water, and having an all-out blast.

Meanwhile, Mai was supposed to be working just a few feet away. With a view like this outside the window, staying focused seems like it would require some serious willpower. There are workplace distractions, and then there’s Fred living his absolute best life in a bubbling hot tub.
The Labrador’s enthusiasm also makes the whole scene even funnier. He isn’t cautiously testing the water or lounging peacefully along the edge. He appears completely committed to the experience, splashing around as though this is exactly what the hot tub was installed for.

Viewers loved watching Fred’s aquatic adventure. One noted, “I’m crying, he looks like a Polar Bear in an exhibit in a zoo.”
@kaila added, “I’d get so distracted and watch him the whole time, lmao.” And like the rest of us, Mai confirmed, “I literally was.”
@Kourtney joked, “My dad would be proud someone was actually using the pool.”
And @aubreymariehome said it best: “We are so lucky to live in a world where there are dogs.”

That’s the truth. And if Fred is part of the scenery every day, Mai may have just landed one of the best private chef gigs around.
