Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their decision to move back to the UK, there has been copious speculation as to why.
The couple – who married in 2018 – left the UK in 2020, leaving their roles within the royal family to pursue a life away in the US, and Prince Harry said last year “he couldn’t see a world” in which they would live back in England.
But just two weeks ago, Harry and Meghan made a surprising U-turn and announced they were departing their $11.3 million mansion for a life across the Atlantic with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, who are set to start school in the UK next week.

Initial reports of the alleged project came from Richard Kay, Senior Editor-at-large at the Daily Mail, who said on the publication’s podcast, Palace Confidential: “I am told that one of the reasons Harry’s here is to make a television film, his own film, about his mother.
Richard added: “I know he has been reaching out to his friends and others who knew her, asking them to contribute. That’s going to occupy a lot of his headspace over the next 12 months.”

Then, on Instagram, Darren revealed that there “was a film crew” at the Althorp Estate, where Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, lives, and where Harry and Meghan stayed with Archie and Lilibet on their summer visit to the UK earlier this year.
“Oh, I did wonder if that’s why the film crew were there when I visited Althorp earlier this week. #princessdiana,” the former royal chef penned alongside a screenshot of the story revealing Harry’s alleged plans.

The Duke and Duchess landed at Birmingham airport last week, but have been able to keep an incredibly low profile since their arrival.
However, one heartbreaking event meant that Meghan was forced to break her silence as it was announced that her friend and feminist activist Gloria Steinem had died on 2 September aged 92.
In honour of the sad news, Meghan shared a beautiful, previously unseen photograph of Prince Archie as a toddler with Gloria.

Alongside the image, Meghan wrote in a lengthy statement on Instagram that Gloria spent Thanksgiving dinner with the Sussexes, and loved Archie and Lilibet “with her whole heart.”
“Privately, she was even better than you would imagine – spending Thanksgiving with our family, introducing me to one of my best friends (forever the champion of female friendship), loving our children with her whole heart, counselling me during hard times, and giving extraordinary advice and perspective with a cup of tea and an unrivalled cheekiness and wit,” Meghan wrote.

“But my very favourite story about GLO is when she was out one day in NY, and a woman approached her in absolute awe and said she wanted to introduce her young daughter to her (though she was embarrassed to say the young girl may not know who she was).
Meghan concluded: “Gloria replied: ‘It doesn’t matter if she knows who I am. What matters is that she knows who SHE is’. Rest in peace, and rest in pride. Look at what you’ve done for all of us. Thank you.”
