World-renowned chef and restaurateur José Andrés paid a visit over the weekend to the culinary mecca that is the Minnesota State Fair.

Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, took part in the Great Minnesota Get-Together and stopped by the Dairy Goodness Bar for Midwest Dairy’s 2026 Flavor of the Fair on Saturday.

Thank you for visiting, José,” the Dairy Building staple wrote in a Facebook post. “We hope you enjoyed your Moo-sota Apple Pie and your tour of our space.”

Andrés wasn’t the only big name to swing by the Dairy Goodness Bar for a Moo-sota Apple Pie sundae.

Minnesota Frost forward Taylor Fox (née Heise) sampled the ice cream, hopped behind the counter to help serve it, and checked out the Princess Kay butter sculptures on Sunday afternoon.

“Here’s what makes it even more special: Taylor grew up on a Minnesota dairy farm,” the Dairy Goodness Bar wrote in a separate Facebook post. “Today, she continues to support our local dairy farmers and the Minnesota dairy community.”

During his time at the fair on Saturday, Andrés checked out other beloved concessions as well.

The Spanish-born chef grabbed a Minnesota-raised turkey leg at Turkey To Go, across from the Sheep & Poultry Building.

“To have someone who has dedicated so much of his life to food, hospitality and feeding others stop by our little corner of the Great Minnesota Get-Together was pretty special,” the vendor wrote in a Facebook post Saturday.

“And to everyone who has stopped by Turkey To Go this year, whether you’re a world-renowned chef or you’ve been coming to our booth with your family for decades, thank you.”

Andrés also gnawed on a charbroiled pork chop on a stick from Peterson’s Pork Chops.

The stand said in a Facebook post that the chef’s visit “absolutely made our day” and “to say we were excited would be an understatement.”

“We are huge fans not only of the amazing chef he is, but especially of the work he and his team at World Central Kitchen do around the world, showing up and feeding people when they need it most.

It was truly an honor to meet him and serve him a Pork Chop on a Stick!”
