A new season of Dancing with the Stars is finally upon us and ABC has truly outdone itself with its season 35 cast!
Season 35 features one of the most diverse casts we’ve seen on the show, with celebrities from every facet of the entertainment industry. We’ve got actors from some of the biggest shows currently on ABC, reality TV icons, singers, athletes, social media stars, comedians, and even a celebrity chef, who come together in what is surely going to be a recipe for success.
Not only is this year’s cast diverse in pulling in stars from various mediums and generations, but it also features a relatively younger cast. There are only two stars this season over the age of 50, and only 35 years separates the season’s oldest cast member and its youngest! Looking at the 16 contestants competing this season, we have four in their 20s, five in their 30s, five in their 40s, and 2 in their 50s, giving us a well-balanced cast and a really leveled playing field!

Compared to recent seasons, Dancing with the Stars season 35’s cast trends on the younger side overall, which is indicated by the fact that we only have five celebrities competing who are over 40 years old, and none are older than 56 years old. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Tatyana Ali is one of the season’s oldest contestants, which is a wild sentence to write considering she’s only 47, having been born on January 24, 1979. She’s 16 years older than her pro partner, Jan Ravnik, who was born on May 13, 1995 making him 31.

The former Bachelorette star turned reality TV staple Tyler Cameron is 33, having been born on January 31, 1993. He’s eight years younger than his pro, Sharna Burgess, who was born on June 21, 1985, making her 41 as of season 35. At 41, Burgess is actually this season’s oldest pro dancer, but not by much, as the season has several pros who are 40.

At 56, Food Network chef and personality Giada De Laurentiis is somehow the oldest contestant of season 35 of Dancing with the Stars. This is one of our youngest casts yet, with no celebrities in their 60s or 70s competing this season, marking quite a change from past years. With her August 22, 1970, birthday, De Laurentiis will look to prove that age is just a number. She’ll be competing alongside Alan Bersten, who was born on May 26, 1994, making him 32 years old. Not only is De Laurentiis the season’s oldest celeb, but she and Bersten have one of the largest age gaps, with 24 years between the pair.

Jenna Dewan first danced into our hearts 20 years ago in Step Up, and she’s made quite a name for herself since the beloved dance flick. Now starring in The Rookie, Dewan is 45 years old, having been born on December 3, 1980, which puts her in a unique position. While Dewan will start the competition when she’s 45, if she makes it to finale night, she might end up ending the season a year older. She’ll be competing alongside 2-time champion Val Chmerkovskiy, who is six years younger than her, having been born March 24, 1986 which makes him 40 as of 2026.

At just 21 years old, Paralympic Gold Medalist and world-record holder track and field star Ezra French is the youngest contestant taking to the dance floor as part of the Dancing with the Stars season 35 cast. French was born on May 11, 2005, which was just weeks before Dancing with the Stars debuted its first season on June 1, 2005. French will be competing alongside Daniella Karagach, who is 33 years old, having been born on December 26, 1992.

Ezra French won’t be the only athlete taking to the ballroom this season as Dancing with the Stars season 35 will also feature Olympic gold medalist and a three-time U.S. national champion figure skater Amber Glenn. Glenn will be 26 when she begins the season, but if she can make a run at the mirrorball and is still in the competition by her birthday on October 28, she’ll turn 27 during the show. She’ll be competing alongside returning pro Pasha Pashkov, who was born on May 28, 1986, making him 40 years old as of 2026.

Dancing with the Stars season 35 is definitely lacking on musicians, with Hanson member Taylor Hanson representing for the music industry as the only singer in the competition this season. The 90s icon is somehow the second-oldest male celebrity of the season at 43, having been born on March 14, 1983. He’ll be competing alongside fan-favorite pro Britt Stewart, who is five years younger than her celeb. Stewart will begin the season at the age of 37 but will celebrate her 38th birthday on September 21.

Maura Higgins first entered the reality TV space via Love Island, but it was her turn in The Traitors season 4 that truly made her a household name. Higgins will begin the season at 35 years old; however, she could be one of a few members of the cast to celebrate their birthday on the show if she sticks around until her birthday on November 25. She has a good chance of making it far this season, as she’s paired with three-time mirrorball winner Mark Ballas, who she competed alongside on The Traitors. The pair are one of the closest duos in age, with Ballas having been born on May 24, 1986, making him four years older than Higgins.

After watching his wife, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt, compete last season, Conner Leavitt will aim to bring home the mirrorball with help from the show’s newest pro. Interestingly, neither Leavitt nor his partner Adele Zaikman, who won the debut season of Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, have celebrated their birthdays this year. Leavitt was born on December 7, 1993, making him 33 years old at the top of the season, while Zaikman was born on September 30, 2001, meaning she’ll be 24 years old when the season begins.

Summer House star Ciara Miller is currently 30 years old, but she will celebrate her birthday after the season wraps as a late December baby! Miller was born on December 24, 1995, meaning she’ll turn 31 on Christmas Eve. As for her partner Brandon Armstrong, he was born June 5, 1994, making him just over a year older than Miller at 32.

Sarah Jane Nader might be following in the footsteps of her sister Brooks Nader as she waltzes into the ballroom this season, but she’s actually joining an elite group of contestants in season 35. Nader is only the third celebrity in the show’s 35 seasons to compete with a same-sex partner, bringing much-needed representation into the ballroom! At 24 years old, having been born on February 20, 2002, Nader is one of the season’s youngest contestants, and she’ll be dancing with the season’s youngest pro! First-time pro Hailey Bills is only 20 years old, having been born on May 18, 2006, making her the youngest member of the season 35 cast!

Coming in as one of the youngest stars this season, our Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson is 28 years old; at least that’s the age he’ll be when the season starts. Olson is one of several celebs this season who could celebrate his birthday during the competition, as he was born on October 6, 1997, meaning he’ll be turning 29 just a few weeks after the season premiere on September 15. He’ll be competing with season 24 winner Emma Slater, who is 10 years his senior and will be celebrating her birthday on Christmas Day!

At 55, Jimmy Kimmel Live! star Guillermo Rodriguez is actually one of the season’s oldest contestants! Born January 27, 1971, Rodriguez is one of only two stars over 50 in what is one of the youngest casts we’ve seen in the show’s run. He might be the show’s oldest male celeb this year, but he’s looking to prove age is just a number and he’s got a perfect partner to help guide him on the journey! Rodriguez will be competing with reigning champion Witney Carson, who is 22 years younger than her partner, having been born on October 17, 1993.

You might be shocked to learn that Grey’s Anatomy star Harry Shum Jr. is one of the season’s older male contestants, as I know I was! Shum was born on April 28, 1982, making him 44 years old. He’s paired with pro Jenna Johnson, who was also born in April and is 12 years younger than her partner, having been born on April 12, 1994, making her 32 years old as of 2026.

It only took the show 35 seasons, but Julia Stiles is finally taking to the dance floor, and we could not be happier! The iconic actress whose hits include 10 Things I Hate About You and Save the Last Dance will take to the ballroom with Ezra Sosa, who is chasing his first mirrorball trophy with the beloved actress. The pair have one of the biggest age differences of the season’s partners, with Stiles having been born March 28, 1981, making her 45 as of 2026, while Sosa will turn 25 on November 15!

Last but certainly not least we have social media personality Connor Wood! Wood celebrated his 31st birthday just days before the season 35 premiere, having been born on September 11, 1995. He’s set to take to the dance floor this season with one of the show’s youngest pros: Rylee Arnold. At 21 years old, Arnold is the second-youngest pro and member of the season 35 cast!
