Le Petit Chef brings a whimsical new way to dine to the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel
The gold standards of contemporary dining experiences offer more than just food.
Today’s culinary leaders are creating connections and memorable moments while establishing an atmosphere that truly excites all the senses.
It’s an approach that the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel wholeheartedly embodies.
Available to book today, Le Petit Chef is returning to a private event space within the Sheraton with an entirely new show, Le Petit Chef & The Magical Cooking Book. The latest experience combines a four-course meal with immersive 3D projection mapping technology, offering a different adventure from the previous Le Petit Chef & Family show.
Throughout the evening, a tiny animated chef appears directly on guests’ tables and plates, taking them on a culinary adventure before each course is served. Guests will follow a whimsical story filled with magical recipes, unexpected surprises and memorable characters along the way.
The experience lasts approximately two hours and is designed to entertain guests of all ages.
“What really attracted us to the concept is that it creates moments people remember and talk about long after the evening is over and that’s exactly the kind of hospitality experience we strive to deliver,” explains Yannick Simovich, general manager at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel.

The experience uses advanced 3D projection mapping technology alongside projectors mounted above the tables that create precisely mapped animations that interact with the tabletop and plate.
Guests see the tiny chef preparing ingredients, overcoming challenges and bringing each course to life before it’s served.
The effect is incredibly immersive because the story unfolds directly in front of patrons. It feels as though the table itself becomes a stage, with every course introducing a new chapter in the adventure.
“We’re always looking for ways to create memorable experiences that go beyond the traditional hotel and restaurant offering,” Simovich said. “Le Petit Chef stood out because it combines storytelling, technology, entertainment and great food in a way that appeals to a wide range of guests.”
And as Simovich explains, the experience needs to be taken in firsthand to fully appreciate the whimsy, colour and feel.
Photos and videos are all well and good, but they don’t quite capture the atmosphere in the room when the story begins and the entire table comes to life.
“It’s a rare opportunity to experience a globally recognized dining concept right here in Richmond and we’re excited to offer something that’s fun, innovative and memorable for both our hotel guests and the local community,” he says.
The menu, meanwhile, is designed to complement the storytelling experience. Guests can choose from classic, vegetarian, gluten-free and kids’ menu options, ensuring that different dietary preferences can be accommodated while enjoying the same visual journey.
Each course is tied to the narrative and arrives as the next chapter of the story unfolds.
“This isn’t just about the entertainment: we’ve put considerable focus on the culinary aspect as well, creating a menu that stands on its own while enhancing the overall experience,” Simovich said. “Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning a date night, entertaining clients or simply looking for something different to do with family and friends, it offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience right here in Richmond.”
