Executive Chef Kamal Fraser is set to launch his second restaurant in Horry County.

Caribbean Jerk Cuisine is expanding beyond Conway with the opening of a second restaurant in Myrtle Beach, located at 3401 N. Kings Highway.

The grand opening will run July 10-12 from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, featuring live music each evening as well as the opportunity to order from the full menu, which includes a wide variety of authentic dishes such as the best-selling country ox tail as well as the signature jerk chicken and burger.

Pair any of the appetizers and main dishes with a glass of wine or a Red Stripe beer and follow with a savory dessert such as rum cake, pineapple upside-down a la mode cake or plantain split.

Everything, including a selection of jerk rubs and sauces that are available for purchase, is made in-house from scratch with the freshest ingredients, techniques that have been passed down for generations and the highest standards, according to Chef Fraser.

Chef Fraser’s background

His culinary journey began when he was a child growing up on a farm in Jamaica, where he was inquisitive about how his family grew, harvested and prepared food from scratch.

In his teens and beyond, he explored and developed his desire to become an executive chef by interning and holding positions at the luxury Sutton Place Hotel, now Knutsford Court, and the Courtleigh Hotel & Suites in Kingston, Jamaica.

When Chef Fraser came to Myrtle Beach to study his twin passion for seminary, he worked at Angelo’s Steaks & Pasta for six-years while honing his skills.

On April 1 2020, Chef Fraser started his own enterprise with the Caribbean Jerk Cuisine food truck. By 2021, the concept had become so successful that he opened a bricks and mortar restaurant on 4th Ave. in Conway.

In 2022, he purchased the building where “the mother” Caribbean Jerk is now located at 1303 4th Ave, also in Conway. By 2023, he added a second food truck to his fleet, and in 2024, he established the chef’s table, where fine dining guests enjoy an open-flame experience on weekends. That same year, he competed against top culinary talent from across the country on the Cooking Channel’s Chef Swap and earned the title of champion.
