An employee at a fast food restaurant in Brooklyn is dead, and a second person is recovering in a hospital, after a shooting erupted just after midnight on Sunday.
The incident occurred inside of Brownsville’s America’s Best Wings and Pizza, located at 842 Rockaway Avenue. According to police sources, cops from the 73 Precinct received a 911 call reporting an assault inside of the eatery at 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 23. When officers arrived they discovered a 44-year-old worker with a gunshot wound to the head and a 39-year-old man with a bullet wound to the right leg.
EMS rushed both men to Brookdale Hospital, where the employee was pronounced dead. His identity is still pending family notification. The 39-year-old man is expected to survive.
Police did not immediately have a description of a suspect or a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.
This comes after several days of gun violence in the borough. On Friday night, a 27-year-old man was shot to death in East New York in what police are investigating as a road rage incident. On Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting in an East New York restaurant in what cops are probing as a gang-related incident.
