A Nottingham steakhouse is shutting its doors as part of nationwide closures. It’s eight years since Bar + Block launched in June 2018 on Father’s Day.
The restaurant, part of the Premier Inn hotel in the city’s Chapel Quarter, is one of 20 Bar + Block that closing for good on September 3.
Following the restaurant closure, hotel guests will still be able to have breakfast, evening meals and drinks during their stay.
It is part of a massive overhaul by parent company Whitbread which is shutting down 261 restaurants across the UK to reduce costs and integrate dining areas directing into its hotels.

Brewers Fayre and Beefeater restaurants around the country are also scheduled to close on September 7 and September 10 respectively, including three in Nottinghamshire.
Millers Barn in Cinderhill Road, Nottingham, Roman Way in Newark, and The Dukes in Worksop will shut their doors..
The company said it hoped to see diners before the restaurants close but warned: “In the lead-up to closure, some food and drink options may not be available during your next visit.”
Anyone wanting bottomless brunch or Sunday roasts are asked to call the restaurant directly to check availability as it will vary by site.
Whitbread announced the changes earlier this year as part of its proposed five-year plan to focus on the hotel side of the business.
A statement said: “This change will involve exiting all of our remaining branded restaurants, which trade under brands including Beefeater and Brewers Fayre, a number of which will be converted into approximately 600 additional Premier Inn rooms, with the remainder expected to be sold as going concerns.”
The company, which has a workforce in the UK and Ireland of 30,000, said it hoped to redeploy a number of staff but changes could result in the loss of around 3,800 jobs.
