A new Italian-inspired restaurant specialising in artisan pizzas has opened at Marriott Residences Salgados Resort in the Algarve.
Amarea Pizzeria is the latest concept from the Amarea brand, which already operates Amarea by the Pool and Amarea Terrazza at Hotel Algarve Marriott Salgados Golf Resort & Spa.
The new restaurant takes inspiration from traditional Italian pizza-making, with a relaxed, contemporary setting designed for informal meals with family and friends.
Its menu ranges from Italian classics to more unusual combinations, with artisan pizzas taking centre stage.
Traditional choices include Margherita, Quattro Formaggi and Diavola, while more distinctive options include the Ortolana, made with pumpkin sauce, artichoke, bimi and cherry tomatoes.
Another speciality is the Mortadella e Pistacchio, combining mozzarella, green pesto, Bologna mortadella and pistachios.
The menu also features two pizza sandwiches designed for sharing between two people: one filled with aubergine, roasted peppers and red pesto, and another with salami and mozzarella.
Starters include focaccia with green olives and garlic bread with mozzarella and oregano, while lighter options range from a prawn Caesar salad to a Mediterranean Caprese combining ripe tomatoes, DOP mozzarella, basil pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and grilled chicken.
Italian influences continue into dessert, with traditional tiramisu and affogato alongside a vegan panna cotta.
The drinks menu includes cocktails, natural juices, kombucha, sangria, wines and sparkling wines. Among the signature cocktails are the Basilini, made with gin, limoncello, ginger and basil, as well as the Fig Negroni and Mango Spritz.
Alcohol-free options include a Limonzero Spritz, Kiwi & Elderflower and Passion Fruit & Mint.
The opening expands Amarea’s presence in the Salgados area (Albufeira) and adds another restaurant to the food and beverage offering at Marriott Residences Salgados Resort.
