Nunzios has started serving brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The full menu is available, along with three breakfast pizzas, each for $20. Everything Bagel has fresh dill ricotta, smoked lox and everything bagel seasoning. Saturday Morning Scares has extra-virgin olive oil, an Italian cheese blend, prosciutto, jalapeno and hot honey. The AM Classic is San Marzano tomato sauce, spicy Italian sausage, scrambled eggs and an Italian cheese blend. The menu is expected to grow in coming weeks. Diners also can enjoy a bottomless mimosa tower for $25. The restaurant is open until 9 p.m. both days.
For Friday night’s BYO Vinyl, Myrtle’s Speakeasy is marking the loss of Dolly Parton and Tim Curry by playing their music, with old movies running in the background. There will be two featured drinks: 9 to 5, an espresso martini with Southern Comfort, and Dr. Frank-N-Furter Mystery Shots.
Chasers Food & Spirits is throwing a Dolly Parton Tribute Night from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. There will be Dolly songs, special cocktails and custom appetizers. Customers are invited to “bring your biggest hair and brightest bling.”
The new owner of Polar Bites is an investment group led by Jon Oppold, owner of Sunny’s Pizzeria and co-owner of The Orion Pub. The frozen treat shop was started seven years ago by Jessica and Matt Rooney, who will continue to operate their Dakota Snow shaved ice trailers. With the ownership change, the business closed temporarily and is expected to reopen by mid-September, Oppold said. Hours for the remainder of the season will be 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. weekdays and 12:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the weekend. “Polar Bites has been a neighborhood favorite for my family since it opened in 2019,” Oppold said. “When I saw it was for sale, I jumped at the opportunity. I think neighborhood spots are so important because they are what makes our city unique.”
With sweet corn and tomatoes in season, Pizza Cheeks is putting them to good use in new menu items. Heirloom tomatoes are the featured ingredient in the Heirloom Tomato Plate and Heirloom Tomato Pie. Totally Rad Eats at Fernson Downtown is featuring three new items for a limited time. In addition, Fernson Coffee & Tea, which is also part of the downtown taproom, also has new seasonal drinks: Sweet Potato Pie, Blueberry Cobbler and Bourbon Cold Brew.

Reminder: The next monthly round of Passport to the World: International Nights is today through Saturday at Parker’s Restaurant Group locations. Hours are 5 to 7 p.m. for the food and drink specials. Taco Bell is reliving 2016 with the return of four menu items for a limited time: the Naked Chicken Chalupa, Meximelt, Beefy Crunch Burrito and Caramel Apple Empanada.
Buffalo Wild Wings has a throwback menu with items that were popular at the turn of the century. That includes Beef on Weck Sliders, Buffalo Chips, Hot BBQ bone-in and boneless wings, fried garlic mushrooms, mini corn dogs and the Buffalo Zoo cocktail. There’s also the Throwback Ultimate Sampler – everything minus the wings and drink.
Cracker Barrel has introduced limited-time Crispy Homestyle Chicken dishes, along with other seasonal dishes like Sweet Cream Caramel Apple Pancakes or French Toast and Fried Cinnamon Apple French Toast Bake. The chicken is available an entree or sandwich, with options to load it –Maple Bacon and BBQ Smokestack – or sauce it — Nashville Hot and Honey Butter. There’s also a new Apple Cobbler Cheesecake and returning favorite Carrot Cake.

Sunny’s Pizzeria has created an Adopt a Teacher board. It’s filled with QR codes that link to teachers’ Amazon wish lists with supplies and resources for their classrooms. The board will be up for a couple of weeks. The restaurant gave a shout-out to employee Danny Sullivan for coming up with the idea and putting it together.
The latest pop-up flavor at Nothing Bundt Cakes is Galactic Brownie Cake. Fudgy chocolate cake is topped with a brownie batter glaze and rainbow sprinkles. It will be available through Sept. 6 or while supplies last.
Severance Brewing Co. and Sioux Empire United Way are having a launch party from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday for their collaboration brew. Every year, the organization chooses from three styles, and this year’s pick is a shandy. For every pint or four-pack sold, $1 goes to the local United Way.
Changes in hours, service
Flyboy Donuts at Empire Place has new hours for fall: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
SoDak Soda’s Sertoma location will be closed through Saturday because team members will be working in the drink trailer at the Banana Ball World Tour stop at The Birdcage. Next week, the Trevi Place store will switch to school year hours, matching those in place already at Sertoma: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
With the return of school, Buddies & Co. in Brandon is no longer open on Mondays.
