Boston has a new sushi spot where customers can pick up a fresh roll, plate or box in less time than a traditional restaurant.
Happy Rice Sushi officially opened at 53 Boston Wharf Road in Seaport on Friday.
In honor of its grand opening, Happy Rice Sushi will give the first 100 customers on Friday and Saturday a free tote bag and swag. Guests can also expected matcha from byChae and caviar tastings from Roe House Caviar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until sold out) on both days.
Customers can also get 20% off their order when they download the Happy Rice app during the day Friday.
“Opening our first Happy Rice in Boston’s Seaport is incredibly meaningful to me personally,” founder Phil Turley said in a previous press release.

“The Seaport is a place that embraces new ideas and forward-thinking concepts, making it the perfect home for reimagining what everyday sushi can be,” he said. “We’re excited to become part of the daily rhythm of the neighborhood, and this is just the beginning of what we hope will grow into many Happy Rice locations across Boston.”
Happy Rice Sushi is inspired by Turley’s mission to make sushi a fresh, reliable and accessible meal that customers can pick up in a timely fashion. The menu features an array of rolls, nigiri, sashimi and sides.
Standout options include the Salmon on Salmon deluxe roll (salmon, avocado, cucumber, sesame seed and salmon and scallion pepper relish) and the Plant Protein deluxe roll (tofu, pickled daikon, snow peas, broccoli sprouts, garlic hummus, roasted beets and wasabi sprouts).

Happy Rice Sushi also has curated Benefit Boxes developed by a panel of nutritionists. Every menu item is prepared in a kitchen free of gluten, seed oils and refined sugar.
The Benefit Boxes come in two sizes and are geared toward specific wellness goals. Small boxes include a full roll, half roll and two pieces of nigiri while large boxes include one full classic roll, one full deluxe roll and three pieces of nigiri or sashimi.
Additional offerings include kimchi, a pickle medley, canned teas, matchas and other wellness beverages.
Happy Rice Sushi is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Aug. 28-30, then again from Sept. 1-6. The restaurant will be closed on Aug. 31, Labor Day and Sept. 7. Beginning Sept. 8, the eatery will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Orders can be placed through the Happy Rice app. Online delivery will launch Sept. 11 through the Happy Rice app, DoorDash and Uber Eats. Customers can also place catering orders starting Sept. 28.
