Roaches were found at ten Dallas restaurants and sanitation issues were noted at others in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.
The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from Aug. 2 through Aug. 8 and 382 inspections.
Dallas inspections function on a 100-point scale where a score of 100 is considered perfect and a score of 70 is considered extremely poor. Restaurants scoring below 60 must close and undergo inspection before reopening.
Inspectors found roaches at ten locations:
Ruins Bar, located at 2653 Commerce Street, had a score of 70. Inspectors noted the presence of “many gnats and some roaches.”Sweet Bella Soul Food Kitchen, at 8131 Forest Lane, had a score of 75. Insect activity was found in the kitchen.El Fenix, located at 6811 West Northwest Highway, had a score of 82. Roaches were found on cooking equipment.India Chaat Cafe, at 18101 Preston Road, had a score of 82.Aso Rock Market, located at 10061 Whitehurst Drive, had a score of 83. Roach eggs were observed on to-go plates.Flaming Cheese Saganaki Greek Restaurant, located at 9025 Forest Lane, had a score of 85.The Legacy Midtown Park, at 8260 Manderville Lane, had a score of 86.Kroger #511, at 10677 East Northwest Highway, had a score of 93.Velvet Taco, located at 4622 Greenville Avenue, had a score of 95.Antojitos Cafe Mini Store, located at 509 North Gilpin Avenue, had a score of 97.
