Kevin Durant is a two-time NBA champion, 16-time NBA All-Star, and the United States’ all-time Olympic basketball scoring leader. The four-time Olympic gold medalist and likely future Hall of Famer is expanding into hospitality with Austin Sports Club, a new downtown Austin restaurant and entertainment venue scheduled to open this September.
The concept is a collaboration among Durant, Boardroom CEO and business partner Rich Kleiman, Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia, and Austin-based Lobos Hospitality.

Lobos Hospitality is the group behind Austin concepts including Powder Room, Manny’s, Toasty Badger, and Studio Lobos. Austin Sports Club is Boardroom Hospitality’s first restaurant venture and will occupy a 4,723-square-foot space at 205 E. Third St. in downtown Austin.
Described as a “timeless restaurant reimagined for the modern athlete, executive, and tastemaker,” the Austin Sports Club is a luxury sports bar and restaurant that combines elevated dining, craft cocktails, immersive sports culture, and a contemporary take on the classic American athletic club.
Austin Sports Club’s food program will lean into refined American classics rather than conventional sports-bar staples. Steak anchors the menu, including a Snake River Farms ribeye, while seafood-forward options will include chilled lobster rolls and grilled fish. Guests can expect cacio e pepe arancini, lollipop wings, bread served with bone-marrow butter, and caviar paired with tater tots.
Austin Sports Club will add weekend brunch service from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Announced dishes include stuffed French toast and steak and eggs, extending the venue’s steakhouse-adjacent approach into daytime dining.
The cocktail program will be equally central to the concept. Early announced drinks include the Wimbledon ’75, The Dagger, and The Hat Trick, alongside a brunch-oriented Bloody Hail Mary made with bacon-washed vodka and house-made Bloody Mary mix. Wine, craft beer, and rare spirits will also be available.
Austin Sports Club opens in Austin at 205 E. Third St. on Thursday, September 10. Once open, the restaurant will operate from 5 pm – 10 pm Monday through Thursday; from 5 pm – 11 pm on Fridays; from 10 am – 4 pm for Saturday and Sunday brunch; from 4 pm – 11 pm for Saturday dinner; and from 4 pm – 10 pm for Sunday dinner.
Reservations are highly encouraged.
