Mulberry Street Pizzeria opened at Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip in September 2021, just three months after the debut of the property that June. Now, five years later, Mulberry Street is closing, the pizzeria announced Wednesday on Instagram.
“Resorts World was Mulberry’s first location outside of California, so it’s been an important chapter for the brand and one were incredibly proud of,” the post reads, in part. The last day of service is Sept. 14.
New Yorker Richie Palmer brought his family recipes west, launching the first Mulberry Street Pizzeria — a nod to the street of the same name in New York’s’ Little Italy — in Beverly Hills, California, in 1991. Today, the Los Angeles area is home to four Mulberry Street locations.
The Resorts World store has its fans, to judge by social media reaction to the closing, and in SoCal, the pizzeria is considered an L.A. classic. But in Vegas, Mulberry Street never felt like part of the lively and ongoing conversation about the city’s emergence as a top pizza destination.
The post also suggests that Mulberry Street could find another Vegas spot for its New York-style slices and pies. “Las Vegas…we’re not cashing out! See you soon. Thank you — Richie.”
