CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Rapper DaBaby was set to open his brunch restaurant in Charlotte during Labor Day weekend, he announced Friday.
The Charlotte-raised rapper is venturing into the city’s food scene with his new brunch spot No Knife Chicken & Waffles. DaBaby announced on Friday, Sept. 4, that the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6.

No Knife Chicken & Waffles, which was originally expected to open in July, was expected to offer recipes that DaBaby has been cooking up for fans on social media. The menu was said to feature “refined Southern comfort cuisine,” including chicken and waffle dishes, of course.
DaBaby has been featured in cooking videos under the No Knife/Cooking with Kirk brand since earlier this year. His videos don’t only focus on breakfast food, though he’s been seen making waffles, French toast, breakfast sandwiches and more.
The rapper wasn’t expected to serve as head chef of the restaurant, but was said to be playing a major role in the menu’s development.
The restaurant is located at 700 Atando Avenue in north Charlotte. The grand opening will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6 — but the regular restaurant hours weren’t immediately clear.
