FORT THOMAS, Ky. (WKRC) – A new Northern Kentucky restaurant designed to take diners around the world through food and wine opened Friday.
Traveler’s Table opened in Fort Thomas. The new concept from Taste Food and Wine Group features dishes inspired by culinary traditions from countries including Spain, France, Peru, Morocco, India, Japan, Georgia, Argentina and Mozambique.
“The idea is not simply to put dishes from different places on a menu,” co-owner and executive chef Challis Hodge said in a media release. “We want to tell the story behind the food, but also why people eat it, where it came from, what traditions surround it and what you might drink with it.”
Menu offerings include Gilda, a Basque combination of anchovy, olive and pickled pepper; Flammekueche, a traditional dish from France’s Alsace region; and Peruvian ceviche.
The restaurant’s beverage program follows the same international theme, featuring wines from established and lesser-known regions along with cocktails, beer and nonalcoholic options.
Traveler’s Table has about 40 indoor dining seats, additional bar seating and roughly 50 outdoor seats on a patio with an outdoor bar.
“You don’t need to be a wine expert or an experienced traveler to enjoy Traveler’s Table,” co-owner Lauren Hodge said. “Hopefully, you leave having discovered something new and with a story to tell.”
The restaurant also plans seasonal dinners, wine events and other experiences centered on specific cultures and regions.
