A national Nashville hot chicken chain is opening a restaurant in North Natomas this fall.
Angry Chickz, famous for its spicy chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and mac and cheese is set to open in late September at 4740 Natomas Blvd., according to the chain’s social media.
Angry Chickz did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee about a specific opening date.
Alongside its sandwiches and tenders, Angry Chickz sells bowls, loaded with spicy chicken and sides, including mac and cheese, fries, and coleslaw. The spiciness ranges from country/no heat to the more extreme levels of “hot,” “x-hot,” and “angry,” according to its online menu. An illustrated tongue-in-cheek warning says that when ordering angry hot, a customer should “sign a waiver.”
Angry Chickz opened a drive-thru location in Rocklin in July, according to a news release. David Mkhitaryan, the chief executive officer of the chain, said in the release that the franchise is expanding across Northern California.
“Rocklin is a vibrant, fast-growing community, and we’re looking forward to serving guests who appreciate bold flavors, quality ingredients and great hospitality,” Mkhitaryan said. “We can’t wait to become part of the neighborhood.”
Angry Chickz was founded in 2018 by Mkhitaryan, with its first location in East Hollywood. There are more than 40 locations nationwide, with a majority in California.
The following four locations are in the Sacramento area.

5550 Sunrise Blvd. in Citrus Heights
6741 Stanford Ranch Rd. in Rocklin
The restaurant will join a number of others in the shopping plaza. They include BonChon, Taqueria El Burrito, Rose Tea Lounge and Cold Stone Creamery, according to Google Maps. Angry Chickz replaces Sushi Elite.
