INDIANAPOLIS — Broad Ripple will soon have a new dining option.

Hamilton Walker’s steakhouse is planning to open a new location at Marko on the Canal, a new Keystone group mixed-use development featuring a luxury apartment complex, plus space for stores and restaurants.

The restaurant will sit at the intersection of Broad Ripple and College avenues. Hamilton Walker’s said the new site is planned to be 8,000-square-feet and will open in early 2027.

According to Hamilton Walker’s, the restaurant is a 1940s-style steakhouse that specialize in steak, seafood and spirits. According to the restaurant’s website, Hamilton Walker’s sources ingredients such as steaks from family farms in Iowa. There is currently one other location in Champaign, Illinois. 

Local officials and organizations have also applauded the move, including the Broad Ripple Village Association.

“Broad Ripple has always been a place where people come together over great food and beverage experiences, and we’re excited to welcome another outstanding restaurant to the neighborhood,” said Mary Dicken, executive cirector of the Broad Ripple Village Association. “Hamilton Walker’s brings another outstanding dining experience to an already wonderful mix of restaurants, giving people yet another reason to spend time in the Village.”

Hamilton Walker’s will serve as “a prominent corner anchor tenant” for Marko on the Canal, according to a press release. The development also includes parking, health and wellness businesses and a coffee shop. Construction started around 2023.

Dining and Cooking
