Love ramen? The Japanese noodle dish is warm, comforting and savory.

Tasting Table recently went in search of the best ramen in every state.

“High-quality ramen restaurants that source local ingredients, have diversified menus and feature welcoming dining rooms are popular among customers and critics alike,” Tasting Table contributor Matt Kirouac wrote in an Aug. 23 article.

The top spots for ramen in the United States serve up traditional soups as well as “elevated bowls that reinvent the dish,” Kirouac said, offering “unique dining experiences.”

What’s the best ramen in Washington state?

According to Tasting Table, Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya was the best spot for ramen in Washington state in 2026.

The popular restaurant chain “marries authenticity with innovation,” Kirouac said.

“Ramen is made using traditional Japanese methods, and the restaurant worked with a Japanese designer to ensure every decor detail is true to its Tokyo roots,” the Tasting Table contributor said.

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya was established in Tokyo in 2023 and opened its first U.S. location in Bellevue in 2012.

Today, the chain has 16 locations across the United States, including 10 in Washington state.

That includes a restaurant at the Tacoma Mall.

What’s on the menu at Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya?

Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya’s menu features more than a dozen varieties of ramen, topped with soft-boiled eggs, bamboo shoots, beansprouts and more. Protein options include pork, chicken chashu and shitake mushrooms.

Appetizers on the menu include chicken wings, pork gyoza and octopus dumplings.

There’s also a variety of rice bowls topped with pork, chicken, tempura shrimp and more.

The restaurant enjoys an average Yelp rating of 4.1 stars out of five, with 436 reviews.

Yelp reviewer Melissa P. of Honolulu, Hawaii, said the restaurant offers “great food, great service.”

How did Tasting Table rate the best ramen in the US?

To determine the best ramen restaurant in all 50 states in the United States, Tasting Table said it focused on restaurants with “critical acclaim, awards, national press and substantial rave reviews from customers.”

“Restaurants were selected for high-quality ingredients, atmospheric dining rooms and unique menu items,” Kirouac said.
