A popular Indian restaurant in Oxford is up for sale to new owners after 47 years trading.
Curry Adda in Headington was established in 1979 and has been serving ‘a taste of the Indian sub-continent’, as it’s sign claims, ever since.
But the business has been offered up to a new owner to take over, as the current operator, Aziz Rahman, is retiring.

Operating from Mount Pleasant Hotel in London Road, the restaurant and takeaway offers a huge menu of popular Indian dishes.
Advertising the sale, an online listing said: “A rare and lucrative opportunity to acquire a fully equipped, recently refurbished restaurant in a prime, high-footfall area of Headington, Oxford.
“Operating successfully since 1979, the current owner is retiring, offering this exceptional turn-key premises to the market.”
The dining space offers 52 covers plus a ‘fully equipped’ bar space, and the restaurant is offered as a ‘turnkey opportunity’ with a large, equipped commercial kitchen and newly refurbished space included.

Curry Adda, which means ‘curry get together’, is currently open for dinner service only, but the sale listing said it benefits from an extended opening hour allowance, from 9am to midnight every day.
The listing added: “This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced operator or expanding restaurant brand looking for a established site in one of Oxford’s busiest commercial districts.”
The business is being offered for sale with an asking price of £30,000 and a £35,000 per annum rent.
