While a peanut butter and jelly classic could do the trick, we want you to really delve into the great sandwiches found at South Jersey eateries.

Here are just a few of the locally made sandwiches you should know about.

Chicken Caesar garlic knot sandwich, Mangia Trattoria Pizzeria, Delran

Mangia Trattoria’s garlic knot sandwiches, particularly the chicken Caesar and chicken parm garlic knot sandwiches, have gone viral for Mangia Trattoria Pizzeria.

TikTok and Instagram users have done videos on the sandwiches, which has caused many customers to make the trip to Delran to experience the goodness.

The garlic knot sandwiches, along with their cheesesteaks, pizzas and appetizers, are among their most popular menu choices.

Mangia Trattoria Pizzeria offers authentic Italian cuisine, including a variety of traditional Italian dishes, including pasta and pizza.

The Bobbie, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, Marlton

“The Bobbie” is a popular sandwich at Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop.

This one puts you in the mood for the holidays. They call it a “Thanksgiving feast in every bite.”

“The Bobbie,” one of the customer favorites, is slow-roasted with hand-pulled turkey, cranberry sauce, handmade stuffing and mayo. This version is a cold sandwich. There is also a “Hot Bobbie.”

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opened a Marlton location in August 2025.

This brand offers a wide variety of subs — hot, cold, grilled, vegetarian — as well as cheesesteaks and salads at locations across the country.

The Ginzo, Dad’s Deli & Catering, Marlton

The Ginzo (prosciutto, genoa salami, sharp provolone, roasted red peppers, and spicy pepper relish) is a popular sub at Dad’s Deli & Catering.

The Gerty (corned beef, pastrami, Swiss, coleslaw and thousand island dressing) and Vegetable Blast (grilled eggplant, asparagus, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella) are among the other sandwich options here.

Located behind a Rita’s Water Ice, Dad’s Deli & Catering has been around for approximately two decades.

This classic deli also has breakfast offerings such as breakfast sandwiches, omelets and French toast. They have subs, burgers, cheesesteaks, soups, salads, sandwiches and more.

G.B.M.F., The Kibitz Room, Cherry Hill

The Kibitz Room, a legendary deli and restaurant, has “The Kibitz Room Challenge.”

It challenges one person to eat a G.B.M.F. (corned beef, pastrami, turkey, roast beef, brisket and coleslaw with Russian dressing), which normally feeds three to four people, with one order of potato salad, one order of coleslaw and one of each pickle in 30 minutes or less. If completed, the $100 super humongous sandwich is free and your name goes on the wall of shame.

The legendary deli is well known for its mammoth and stacked sandwiches, portions and Jewish deli classics. It describes itself as a “New York style deli.” 

There are sandwiches of all types, including hot corned beef, hot pastrami, brisket sandwiches, roast beef, honey maple turkey, tuna melt, chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, cheesesteaks, Reubens and more.

There are also burgers, hot dogs, soups, salads, smoked fish platters, sandwiches, knishes and more on the menu.

Lou’s Famous Hot Roast Beef, Louie G’s, Sewell

Louie G’s is home of “Lou’s Famous Roast Beef and Roast Pork on Atlantic City rolls.”

The hot roast beef sandwich is thinly sliced house-roasted beef dipped in rich beef gravy. This eatery’s specialties are cheesesteaks, sandwiches, fries and dessert.

There are cold hoagies such as traditional Italian, tuna salad, turkey breast and deli ham, and hot sandwiches such as steak hoagie, hot roast beef, hot roast pork, Buffalo chicken cheesesteak, Lou’s famous meatball parmesan, pizza steak, cheesesteak and more. They serve traditional Boardwalk fries.

‘Old World Italian,’ Palmisano’s Sandwich Shop, Sewell

Palmisano’s Sandwich Shop brings it with its sandwiches in a big way, so it definitely has the right name.

One of Palmisano’s “authentic Italian sandwiches” is their “Old World Italian,” which has sharp provolone, prosciutto, salami, dry capicola and mortadella with pistachios topped with arugula, tomato, onion and served on a Sarcone’s seeded loaf.

Then there’s the “PLT,” which has fresh mozzarella cheese and thinly sliced pancetta. It’s topped with arugula, tomato, basil and pesto and served on a Sarcone’s seeded roll.

The place was previously Brick Grocery, a gourmet specialty store.

There are also hot sandwiches, fresh pasta dishes and gourmet salads, as well as desserts.

The Flatbush Avenue, Radin’s Delicatessen, Cherry Hill

Radin’s Deli is known for its oversized and overstuffed sandwiches and portions — basically, go big or go home.

The Flatbush Avenue sandwich is a monster with turkey, corned beef, pastrami, coleslaw and Russian dressing piled high and served on your choice of bread, including rye, seeded rye, wheat, marble, white, pumpernickel or Challah.

The deli, owned by Russ Cowan, has been well received in Cherry Hill since opening in 2024. Cowan previously owned Philadelphia’s Famous 4th Street Deli and has developed other Jewish delis and bagel shops throughout the Delaware Valley over the last 30 years.

The deli serves traditional Jewish cuisine, breakfast anytime and more. The deli smokes its own pastrami, pickles its own corned beef and does its own baking.

The BLT, Reuben, hot dogs, smoked fish, knishes, pastrami and corned beef, matzo ball soup (with massive matzo balls) and salads are among its other menu items. It’s also known for its desserts.

White House Special Italian Sub, White House Subs, Atlantic City

For more than 80 years, White House Subs has been satisfying hungry Atlantic City customers.

One of their go-to sandwich choices is the White House Special Italian Sub.

It’s piled up with Genoa salami, imported ham, capicola, layered with provolone cheese and finished with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, raw onions some oil and vinegar, then topped off with chopped hot or sweet peppers. That’s a mouthful.

Oh, it’s all on a locally freshly baked Italian roll.

Established in 1946, the iconic sandwich shop has two Atlantic City locations, but the original location is along Arctic Avenue. A second shop is located in the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel.
