ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A French bakery on Bluestone Road in Atlanta failed a surprise health inspection this week.
Café Vendome in Fulton County scored 62 points and a “U” for unsatisfactory on Sept. 3. The report says milk was stored at an unsafe temperature, there was mold-like buildup inside the ice machine and a dead cockroach was found in the front-food service area.
An employee told us there was no manager at the restaurant during our visit. Atlanta News First spoke with a manager later who said they are working to correct all violations including posting the current health inspection score on the wall.
Now to an update in Cobb County, Auntie’s House on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna improved on a reinspection this week earning 85 points and a “B.”
Porto Brazil on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs earned its seventh 100 in a row on their last health inspection. Congratulations, they are the winner of our coveted Golden Spatula award. They have been in business for 19 years. The remodel and expansion is beautiful and clean and the food is delicious. It’s $25 all you can eat during the week and $28 on the weekend.
On the menu, you can try the picanha which is a delicious piece of meat, rice and beans and fried pineapple. They also serve salad, pork sausage, cheese bread, pork rib, rice cakes, fried bananas, and the meat platter. It’s all you can eat and flan for dessert. Boy that’s good!
