From gyros to pho, a new Vietnamese restaurant is expected to fill a Short North building that’s sat empty for the last year.
Pho Social Vietnamese Grill is taking the place of the former Happy Greek space in the Short North at 660 N. High St. “Coming Soon” signs recently popped up on the building’s front door, although no official opening date has been announced.
The restaurant comes from owner Oahn Do, who opened the first Pho Social location at Easton in 2021 at 3391 Worth Ave.
Additional menu items outside of pho include Bahn Mi sandwiches, vermicelli, spring rolls and grilled meat with rice.
Capitol Equities Reality, the building’s landlord, confirmed the Vietnamese restaurant’s new home. An email from Capitol Equities indicates the Short North location is a relocation of Easton’s flagship restaurant.
Details on if or when the Easton location will close have not been provided. Pho Social was contacted for additional information but did not respond by the time of publication.
Before Pho Social, the restaurant space was home to Happy Greek for nearly 20 years. When Happy Greek closed in February of 2025, the business cited that the closure was due to being unable to reach an agreement with the landlord.
Capitol Equities owns multiple buildings along the 600 block of High Street. Located next door at 662 N. High St. is Maison Skalli, which opened in April. A lease agreement for a new hair salon at the corner unit at 650 N. High St. has also been signed, with more details expected for the future.
Pho Social is just one of a few new Asian-centric concepts expected for the Short North. Some additional upcoming restaurants further North on High Street include Litchi at 940 N. High St. and Tonchin at 965 N. High St.
No opening date has been announced, although the Easton location is still open. Its hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
