Yats Cajun Creole is saying goodbye next month after 12 years.
Located at 1386 Grandview Ave., Yats will host its final day of business as a brick-and-mortar on Aug. 20. The restaurant space is closing, but the brand’s food truck will remain in action around Central Ohio.
The business announced the news Thursday on social media.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, but what will never change is how grateful we are for every customer who walked through our doors, shared a meal, introduced a friend to Yats, or made us part of their lives. You’ve helped create memories that we’ll carry with us forever,” according to a Facebook post.
Yats Cajun Creole was founded in 2001 by New Orleans restaurateur Joe Vuskovich, with locations in Indiana and Ohio. Michael and Jason O’Rourke opened the Grandview franchise in 2014, and the food truck rolled out in 2021. The Grandview Yats was the chain’s final location in Ohio.
The menu offers a rotating selection of dishes, with vegan and vegetarian options. Some featured classics include Gumbo, Jambalaya and Chicken Creole. In addition to the food truck, the restaurant will continue its catering side of the business as well.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for 12 amazing years of support, friendship, and Cajun comfort food,” according to the post. “You’ve been so much more than customers. You’ve been family.”
