A new Dallas restaurant named Charlie’s is slated to open at West Lovers Lane and Inwood Road in 2027. It’s headed to the former Adelmo’s, which served Italian food in Dallas’ Devonshire neighborhood for decades.

Charlie’s is named after Pond’s son.
Sambol has known his two Charlie’s restaurant partners since they were children, according to a news release.
“This is a very personal restaurant for me,” Sambol said in a statement. “After 30 years, I wanted to create something that feels humble and familiar with great hospitality, a beautiful room, people you know and a restaurant you want to return to again and again.”
It will be a “timeless” place with “understated, old-school elegance,” the news release said.
Charlie’s is surrounded by restaurants in this affluent area of Dallas. The original Neighborhood Services is nearby, as is one of Pond’s high-end spots, Drake’s Hollywood. Across the street, Dunston’s Steakhouse has history reaching back to the 1950s, while PopUp Bagels opened a few months ago.
Charlie’s will not take online reservations. You want a seat? Reservations will be available with a call to the restaurant landline.
The menu isn’t yet available, but Pond said the menu will be “old-school New York continental,” with pastas, chops, salads and seafood.
Charlie’s is expected to open at 5450 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas, in spring or summer 2027.
