Grandma’s Restaurant Company has announced it will be closing its Virginia location after 35 years.

A representative from the company said it would not be renewing its lease at the location and will now be ending operations on September 27, 2026.

“This decision was reached with the utmost respect for the brand’s legacy,” explained a representative from Grandma’s. “Rather than operating under a short-term lease that could compromise the high standards of food and service our guests expect, we have chosen to close this chapter with our quality and reputation intact.”

Grandma’s said that every employee who wishes to stay with company can move to a Duluth location, including Grandmas Saloon & Grill, Little Angie’s Cantina, Bellisio’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, The Garden Wedding & Event Center, and the Adventure Zone Family Fun Center.

“We are profoundly grateful for the relationship we have shared with the Virginia community over the last 35 years,” said management. “While this closure brings an end to a wonderful era on the Iron Range, we want to assure our longtime fans that this is not a final goodbye. There will always be a warm welcome and a table waiting for them at our Canal Park restaurants.”
