Months of renovations are nearly complete and The Mighty Crab Seafood restaurant and bar is ready to welcome customers with crab legs every day of the week, oysters, seafood baskets and seafood boils.

The company has a location in Jackson and plans a soft opening of its new restaurant in South Mississippi on Sunday, Sept. 20. It’s at 1740 Denny Ave., which is U.S. 90 in Pascagoula and just east of Market Street.

The decor is decidedly nautical, and the concept is a Cajun version of a Lowcountry seafood boil.

There are selections for lunch and dinner for those who prefer a salad, chicken tenders or chicken wings that come in flavors like Buffalo, Cajun, hot honey and sweet Thai chili. They also offer a children’s menu.

The choices are much greater for those who arrive for lunch and dinner hungry for seafood, and those looking for crab legs without a buffet.

Get your hands dirty

The list of daily specials start at $34.99 on Monday for a half-pound of snow crab, black mussels and shrimp. Crawfish substitute for the mussels on Tuesday and by the weekends, the special includes the half pound of crab and shrimp plus a lobster tail fir $45.99.

The seafood boils come with corn and potato — and a choice of seasoning like Cajun or garlic butter, and five levels of seasoning, from no spice to extra spicy. Among the dozens of “get your hands dirty” selections are blue crab in season, scallops, calamari, shrimp and Dungeness and king crab legs.

Customers also will be able to make their own seafood combinations, add ingredients to their boil bag and order fried seafood baskets, po-boys, gumbo and raw, steamed and grilled oysters.

More seafood for lunch

The Mighty Crab will be open daily at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner.

The weekday lunch specials are seafood boils with choice of seasoning and spice level, or baskets of fish, chicken tenders, fried oysters and chicken wings that start at $10.

Funnel cake tops the dessert list at the new restaurant.
