This week on Foodie Finds, FOX21’s Kenny Johnson checks out a downtown Colorado Springs favorite serving up fresh Mediterranean flavors.

Mediterranean Cafe has built a loyal following with dishes made fresh in-house, including Greek salads, falafel, gyros, and pita options.

Owner and head chef Ronald Hunter says fresh ingredients and putting care into every dish are key parts of the restaurant’s approach.

One of the most popular menu items is the gyro, featuring a lamb and beef mixture served with fresh vegetables, housemade sauce, and warm pita.

The restaurant also puts its own spin on falafel by adding fresh parsley, cilantro, and green chilies. For something different, guests can try the tuna pita, featuring grilled yellowfin tuna and a housemade sauce.

Mediterranean Cafe is located at 118 E. Kiowa St. in downtown Colorado Springs. To view the menu, visit medcafe-co.com.
