CAPE FEAR REGION, NC (WWAY) — Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar will host benefit events Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of the restaurant’s Turn The Tide September campaign supporting blood cancer patients.
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month. According to Shuckin’ Shack, donations, proceeds from Shuck Cancer apparel, raffles and other fundraising efforts will benefit Blood Cancer United.
Events are planned at four locations:
Carolina Beach: The annual block party runs from noon to 7 p.m. Organizers say 100% of the day’s sales will be donated to Blood Cancer United. The event will include live music, oyster specials and raffles.
Leland: The ‘One Day, One Cause ‘benefit runs from 2 to 10 p.m., with live music, raffles and 20% of the day’s sales donated to Blood Cancer United.
Downtown Wilmington: The benefit runs from 2 to 10 p.m. and will include live music, an oyster-eating competition, games, raffles and other fundraising activities. A $50 all-you-can-eat oyster roast is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m.
Surf City: The location will donate 10% of its day’s sales to Blood Cancer United.
Shuckin’ Shack is also holding a tropical trip giveaway benefiting Blood Cancer United. The prize includes a six-night stay in a private two-bedroom condo in Cruz Bay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, along with travel and rental vouchers.
The campaign is part of Shuckin’ Shack’s continued effort to raise money and resources for people affected by blood cancers.
