A Mediterranean-inspired fast-casual restaurant is coming to Butler County in 2027.
Brassica is opening its eighth Ohio location in the Village North development, which sits just north of Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester Twp.
“Brassica is an Eastern Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant built around the idea that convenient food can also be delicious, beautiful and genuinely good for people,” said Aminda Warburton, Brassica’s communications director.
The restaurant brand was started by brothers Kevin and Darren Malhame in Columbus in 2015.
“The menu is rooted in the Lebanese food founders Kevin and Darren Malhame grew up eating with their family, while drawing inspiration more broadly from the Eastern Mediterranean,” Warburton said. “Kevin has also cited an unforgettable falafel sandwich he ate in Paris more than 25 years ago as part of the inspiration for creating Brassica.”
The plan is for Brassica to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with seating inside and also on a patio.
“Guests build their own salads and sandwiches from freshly prepared ingredients, including falafel, braised chicken and smoked beef brisket, along with vegetables, pickles and housemade sauces,” Warburton said.
The most popular items at Brassica locations include: Brassica’s crispy falafel, the signature seasoned Brassica fries served with Special Sauce and Minty Pink Lemonade.
The lemonade is prepared with organic cane sugar and freshly squeezed lemon and beet juices, according to Warburton.
The organic pitas at Brassica are baked throughout the day in a Woodstone oven and the staff work with artisan producers like Soom Foods for its tahini.
“Beyond salads and sandwiches, the menu includes fries, beer and wine, the frozen tequila-based Brassarita and tahini chocolate chip cookies — offerings that help make Brassica a little different from a typical fast-casual restaurant,” said Warburton.
The Brassica visit goes beyond the food; there is tremendous focus on the customers, Warburton said.
“Just as much attention goes into the restaurant experience itself, with beautiful dining rooms featuring warm walnut wood details, marble table tops, and original artwork; friendly and enthusiastic hospitality and a thoughtfully curated selection of wine, beer and our signature frozen Brassarita cocktail,” Warburton said.
This is the second Cincinnati-area location, with the first being Symmes Twp., near Loveland.
