Boom Bang Fine Foods & Cocktails, a Las Vegas Review-Journal Top 100 Restaurant in 2024 and 2025, is opening a second location, this time in downtown Vegas.
The mainstay of Henderson fine dining recently received approval from the Las Vegas Planning Commission for a full-service alcohol license. The restaurant is going into 70 E. Bonneville Ave., Suite 150, on the ground floor of the Las Vegas Civic Center, according to planning documents.
Neon has reached out to Elia Aboumrad, chef-owner of Boom Bang, for comment on the project, which encompasses 2,637 square feet. Plans show a bar area with bar top and table seating, a dining area with banquette and table seating, and a kitchen with multiple prep areas.
Diner, France, Mexico
In the justification letter that is part of the planning submission, Aboumrad, a “Top Chef” alumna, said the kitchen would “focus on creating an unpretentious yet modern interpretation of the canon of modern American diner staples, classic French bistro cuisine and Mexican cafe culture.”
The justification letter also said the restaurant would feature Vegas craft beers, with six taps and one or two guest taps; an expansive wine program; and a cocktail menu with eight to 10 classic pours and about a dozen signature drinks that change seasonally.
Popular dishes
Aboumrad opened the original Boom Bang in 2021 at 75 S. Valle Verde Drive, Suite 160, Henderson. Since then, the restaurant has developed a reputation for being the kind of spot every neighborhood needs — approachable enough for casual drop-ins but nice enough for special occasions.
Some of the seasonally changing dishes over the years: roasted and preserved tomato tart, salmon tiradito, tuna tartare with soy sauce aged in whiskey barrels, shrimp a la diabla tacos, bucatini Bolognese with sustainable Niman Ranch beef, and white lasagna stacking strata of kurobuta ground pork, ricotta, black truffle cream sauce and pork bordelaise.
Other menu hits: roast half-chicken with tangy-earthy sumac yogurt, Mary’s duck confit and Prime-grade New York steak frites. One longtime item is the New Haven-style pizza: thin crust, charred rim, wicked foldable.
