Oggi Gelato is ready for its Montclair debut.
The gelato shop will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Oct. 10, with a party featuring free gelato, a live DJ, prosecco and more.
The festivities kick off at 5 p.m., and the team tells Montclair Local it has plenty of fun planned for the night. Plus, as if free gelato weren’t enough — do you need more? — the first 100 people in line will score a free OGGI shirt.

Back in April, we shared the news that Oggi Gelato was coming to 40 Church St., in the former Oasis retail space. The Montclair shop marks the gelato chain’s first New Jersey location.
Oggi got its start in Sicily and has since expanded to cities across Italy, Greece and beyond. Now Montclair joins the list.

Openings
Mambo Cuban Restaurant and Lounge (412 Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield) opened its doors and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting on Sept. 18. The Bloomfield restaurant is Mambo Cuban’s third New Jersey location, joining its Union and Harrison spots. The menu features Cuban favorites, cocktails and more.
Aventura Restaurant & Lounge (522 Franklin Ave., Nutley) recently opened in the former MEAL space. The new restaurant serves modern American cuisine with Latin and Asian influences daily from 3–11 p.m. Aventura is the sister restaurant of MK Valencia in Ridgefield Park.
In Case You Missed It
Rooster’s is now Hotbirds. The Nashville hot chicken spot at 369 Bloomfield Ave. in Montclair changed its name and look this summer, but the restaurant says everything else remains the same. The restaurant originally opened as Rooster’s Nashville Hot Chicken in January 2023.
Coming Soon
It’s official! The signs are up for Lenwich at 520 Bloomfield Ave., the former Tous Les Jours space. The sandwich shop started in NYC in 1989 and has grown to more than 14 New York City locations, with expansion into South Korea. The sandwich shop recently crossed the Hudson with a Hoboken location, and Montclair is next. Stay tuned — we’ll let you know when an opening date is announced.
