The state Health Department today shut down Legend Seafood Restaurant at Chinatown Cultural Plaza, with a red placard, due to multiple critical food safety violations.
The department’s food safety branch issued a news release, saying an inspector found multiple violations at the longtime dim sum eatery today, including a roach infestation and discovery of moldy food in its walk-in fridge.
The establishment operated by Ming Dynasty Fish & Shrimp Co. Inc. at the troubled Chinatown Cultural Plaza at 100 N. Beretania St., must remain closed until these violations are fixed. The plaza itself has been in disrepair and may soon be razed due to its deterioration.
The department said Legend owners must resolve the following violations:
>> Roach infestation in the food establishment;
>> Moldy food product found in walk-in fridge;
