SOUTH BEND — CAVA, a Mediterranean-inspired causal restaurant chain, is opening its second location in the South Bend area at Eddy Street Commons on Oct. 4.
The restaurant serves bowls, pitas, dips and dressing, according to a press release sent out by the company, in combination with a focus on hospitality to create diverse, passionate followers who flock to new restaurant openings.
CAVA’s new location at 1251 N. Eddy St. will provide jobs for 25 to 40 local residents, the press release said. The restaurant plans to offer completive pay and benefits, including paid time off, early wage access, healthcare, an Employee Assistance Program and free mental health support.
“Our mission is to bring heart, health, and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members, and our community,” the restaurant’s regional director, Joe Kopke, said. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be in South Bend and continue growing our presence in Indiana.”

Since 2019, CAVA has invited residents at new locations to the table for a free meal before officially opening its doors and accepts donations to support a local cause.
“This company-wide Community Day program has raised more than $1 million in monetary and food donations for organizations working to combat food insecurity across the country,” the press release said. “CAVA’s Eddy Street Commons event is raising funds for Food Bank of Northern Indiana.”
The South Bend Community Day takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 3. CAVA will match all donations up to $1,000 for the Food Bank, the event’s website says.
Registration is required at Eventbrite.
CAVA opened a restaurant at 4342 Grape Road, Mishawaka, on June 3.
Residents can expect the restaurant to be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
