A new restaurant is opening at the Stadium Commons development along Memorial Parkway near Joe Davis Stadium.
Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate announced Tuesday that Light Hill Meats will open their first restaurant, Corban’s Smash House, at Stadium Commons this winter. Light Hill Meats is a family-owned, vertically integrated, pasture-to-plate butcher shop from Spring Hill, Tennessee.
The butcher shop and burger joint will join Free People, FP Movement, Ferren Boutique, VSL Nail Spa, and Hattie B’s Hot Chicken at the upscale mixed-use development serving Huntsville’s southeast side.
Corban’s Smash House will feature a proprietary blend of meat sourced directly from Light Hill Meats’ butcher shop with the restaurant’s goal of serving the best burgers in Huntsville.
The name of the restaurant comes from Ben’s son, Corban, who has autism. Corban’s Smash House aims to be a place where all families feel welcome, including those with children who have special needs.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Light Hill Meats and Corban’s Smash House to Stadium Commons” said Wesley Crunkleton, principal at Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate. “They are a true farm-to-table operation that’s committed to providing the best products to the communities they serve. They are exactly the kind of tenant we set out to attract, and we’re excited they chose Stadium Commons as the location for their first ever restaurant.”
Founded and owned by lifelong cattleman and industry expert Ben Neale, Light Hill Meats raises cattle in across the state line Giles County, Tennessee. The team has spent more than 20 years developing unique herd genetics and building a program that’s centered on responsible animal care, quality, and supply chain transparency, Crunkleton’s release said.
Light Hill Meats owns and operates a processing plant in Lynnville, Tennessee, ensuring top quality care and craftsmanship along every stage, from pasture to butcher case, the company said.
“Huntsville felt like a natural next step for Light Hill Meats,” said Ben Neale, founder of Light Hill Meats. “We’ve built this business around knowing where our food comes from, keeping more of the process in our own hands, and building a real relationship with the people who buy from us. We see an opportunity to bring that same approach to Huntsville: a true butcher shop where people can find quality meat, talk to someone who knows the product, and feel connected to the food they’re putting on their family’s table. We’re excited to become part of the Huntsville community and build something that reflects what we’re all about.”
