If you love fried chicken, you may want to add a stop in Thomaston, Maine, to your food bucket list.

That’s because Honey’s Fried Chicken Palace has landed on a nationwide list highlighting the most popular fried chicken spots in every state, and it’s representing Maine!

The list comes from Finance Buzz, a website best known for personal-finance and consumer content, including topics like credit cards, banking, shopping, travel, and budgeting. But FinanceBuzz also covers lifestyle topics, including food.

For this particular feature, Finance Buzz looked at fried chicken spots across all 50 states and selected a restaurant to represent each state. Honey’s Fried Chicken Palace was the Maine pick, giving this Thomaston favorite some fun national exposure.

And there’s plenty to love about the menu.

Honey’s specializes in fresh, made-to-order fried chicken, with its sandwiches being a major attraction. Popular options include The Classic, Hot Honey, Pimento, Nashville Hot, China Fortune, and Stinger, so there’s definitely more than one way to get your fried chicken fix.

Then there are the sauces. Lots of them.

Honey’s currently offers a whopping 17 housemade sauces, along with its famous oversized Super Tendies, wings, loaded tots, fries, and other sides. The restaurant says its chicken is fresh, never frozen, hand-trimmed, and seasoned with a custom blend of 12 herbs and spices.

It’s pretty cool to see a Maine restaurant from a small Midcoast town getting national attention for something as universally loved as fried chicken.

So, have you tried Honey’s yet? Which sandwich is your favorite?
