High-end steakhouse chain Steak 48 is bringing a second location in Texas to Dallas.

The steakhouse, which is led by James Beard Award-nominated brothers Jeffrey and Michael Mastro, is known for its prime steaks and Wagyu selections as well as the fresh seafood and raw bar. The Dallas location will be at the corner of McKinney and Monticello avenues, between Highland Park and Knox Street.

“We love Dallas and have spent years searching for the right location,” Oliver Badgio, chief brand officer of Steak 48, said in a news release. “The neighborhood has an energy that’s hard to miss, which makes it an exciting place for us to put down roots.”

After selling Mastro’s Steakhouse and Mastro’s Ocean Club in 2007, the Mastro brothers, alongside their father, Dennis Mastro, and business partner Scott Troilo, founded Prime Steak Concepts. This group now owns several restaurants, including Durant’s Steakhouse, Ocean 44 and Steak 48.

Steak 48’s menu will offer “an elevated take on the classic American steakhouse,” the release said, with signature offerings like colossal shrimp cocktail, chef’s cut hanging bacon, corn crème brûlée and caviar cones. There will also be a range of appetizers, raw bar selections and side dishes. Steaks will come in a variety of cuts and sizes.

The new, roughly 14,000-square-foot Dallas restaurant will span across two stories and feature a dining lounge, an elevated dining area and multiple dining rooms and suites to offer “more intimate settings,” the release said. In some of the dining suites, guests will be able to overlook the show kitchen and watch the culinary team at work.

On the second floor, there will be a dining area that surrounds an indoor decorative pool. The restaurant’s contemporary design also will also feature warm wood and custom stone accents throughout, according to the release.

“This location gives us the opportunity to create something special for the city,” Badgio said, “and we want Dallas guests to feel that this is their restaurant.”

Steak 48 has six locations across the country, including one in Houston. Construction on the Dallas restaurant is set to begin soon, and the opening date will be announced later.
