A celebrity chef, TV cook and travel presenter who owns a popular restaurant in Sandbanks has celebrated his 15th wedding anniversary with heartfelt messages online with his wife.
Rick Stein, best known for his seafood restaurants and catalogue of BBC travel and food series, has a special connection to Dorset through his Sandbanks restaurant in Poole Harbour.
The venue, Rick Stein, Sandbanks Restaurant and Bar in Banks Road, first opened in 2015, and is loved by locals and visitors as a high-quality seafood restaurant perched on the edge of Poole Harbour that offers sweeping views of the south’s coastal waters.

On its website, the Sandbanks restaurant said: “This season, lobster is the highlight of the menu, served grilled with garlic butter, baked into a classic thermidor, or prepared with Goan spices.
“The team is known for sharing the story behind each dish, recommending the perfect wine pairing, and occasionally finishing dishes at the table for a touch of theatre.
“Whether you’re dropping in for lunch, meeting friends over a cocktail, or calling in after a walk along the beach, you’ll find seafood small plates, tacos, burgers, fish & chips and the freshest fish we can get our hands on.”
Rick’s wife, Sarah Stein, marked the occasion of their 15th wedding anniversary on Instagram with a touching tribute to her husband.
She said: “Happy wedding anniversary to my best friend, partner in crime, work, food, travel, music and literature.
“You are simply the best, life is not always easy but with you anything is possible.
“Love you to pieces.”
In an affectionate response, Mr Stein replied: “Happy anniversary, Sassy.”
The pair married in 2011.

Mr Stein originally grew up on a farm in Churchill and later studied English at Oxford before launching his restaurant empire in Cornwall.
Looking ahead, the venue is also set to host an event called The Female Founder’s Table, with the co-founder, co-owner, and interior designer of the Rick Stein Group, Jill Stein OBE.
The Sandbanks venue added: “We are delighted to invite you to join Jill Stein for a lunch celebrating the women who continue to shape our story.
“The Female Founder’s Table brings together a group of guests for an afternoon of conversation, connection and good food.”
Set to take place on November, Friday 13, the event will provide guests with a seasonal three-course menu, a glass of wine and stories, reflections and open conversation with Jill.
