Jay’s BBQ Shack is in the running for USA Today’s 10Best list of the best Texas-style barbecue restaurants in the country. A panel of experts selected 20 restaurants to compete for the top 10 spots.
Bite of West Texas: The rise of Jay’s BBQ Shack, Abilene’s beloved BBQ destination
The competition describes Jay’s BBQ Shack as a “no-frills Abilene favorite” offering classic Texas barbecue plates, sandwiches and tacos.
Pulled pork, brisket and sausage links are available by the half pound, while diners can also choose from signature sandwiches, including the turkey-loaded Jaybird and the Boss Hog, which comes loaded with pulled pork, sausage and slaw.
Voting is open once a day until 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19. The 10 winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 28. Click here to vote.
