Chef Troy Guard’s next gig
Denver Chef Troy Guard’s TAG Restaurant Group is venturing to metro Denver’s west suburbs for its next Boozy Brunch Joint HashTAG Wheat Ridge.
It opens Thursday at The Lookout at Clear Creek Crossing, off the southwest corner of Interstate 70 and Highway 58 in Wheat Ridge. The venue is “a new five-acre dining and entertainment district built around a public park with mountain views, an amphitheater, fire pits, and a communal dining license that lets guests move freely between concepts with a drink in hand,” according to a news release.

“TAG Restaurant Group has called Denver home for almost 20 years, and we’ve been looking for the right way to bring something to the west side of the city,” said Guard in the release. “The Lookout is exactly the kind of gathering place we want to be part of, and somewhere we feel like we can really become part of the Wheat Ridge community. HashTAG offers people a place to hang out, have a good meal, and have a good time doing it.”
It’s the TAG Group’s first “counter-to-table service model.” Guests order and grab a drink from the full bar at the counter and then find a table “where the HashTAG team takes it from there with full service.”
The menu includes “award-winning Eggs Benedict, Chilaquiles, the Big Cast-Iron Cinnamon Roll, Biscuits & Gravy, and platter-sized HashTAG Hotcakes.”

Dubbed Revel Strength & Wellness, the business opened earlier this month at 2954 N. Havana St. It includes seven businesses and services including The Gym, Revel Yoga & Pilates, Apto Physical Therapy and an on-site coffee shop: Café Arrieros.
“It’s everybody together, working on the same body,” co-owner Corby Felsher said in a news release.
Felsher and co-owner Brandon Harkey said they’re looking to solve a problem they witnessed firsthand: “People often work on different parts of their health separately, even though strength, mobility, recovery, nutrition, mental health, and other areas can affect one another.”
Business partners were chosen “for their willingness to work with professionals in other specialties, continue learning, and recognize when another provider may be better suited to help a client,” according to the release.
There are about 250 members of The Gym, with capacity to grow to about 600 members. Other services offered include a sauna, IV therapy, nutrition coaching and Thai bodywork, among others.

Akerman names new Denver office lead
Florida-based law firm Akerman LLP announced new leadership for its Denver office.
Erika Labelle has been named managing partner of Akerman’s Denver office. She brings almost 20 years of legal experience “representing public and private businesses in transactional tax, REIT, and controversy matters,” according to a news release. She takes over for Kevin Hein, who held the role for the past five years.
“Erika is a lawyer other lawyers learn from,” Akerman Chairman and CEO Scott Meyers said in the release. “She has co-authored the profession’s leading treatise on deal tax, and she brings extraordinary experience in transactional tax. Her practice intersects with our corporate, real estate, and restructuring teams across the firm, and she has guided clients through their most consequential deals.”
Labelle specializes in representing businesses in “federal controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service.”
“Denver is one of the most dynamic business communities in the country, and our clients here are building across every sector of its economy,” Labelle said in the release. “There’s nowhere I’d rather practice, and nowhere I’d rather live. I’m honored to lead this office and excited to keep building together to serve our clients and this community.”
