We know by now that some of the best hidden gems in Central Ohio are located in strip malls and plazas.
BROUGHT TO YOU BY
El Burrito Bowl, a restaurant that recently opened in a plaza in Worthington at 455 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., is no exception. While this location is new, technically the restaurant is known and loved around here. They had a vendor booth at Bubbly Hall in New Albany before the hall closed this year following lawsuits.
The restaurant serves authentic Mexican cuisine, ranging from tortas (think of it as a toasted deli sandwich, but with Mexican flavor), birria (rich and savory slow-cooked meat), street tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, and much more. But also not-so-authentic options, like pizza birrias, birria ramen, quesabirrias, and even chicken tenders for the kids.
Plus, of course, hence the name, burrito bowls! Pick your favorite protein, rice, black or refried beans, grilled vegetables, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole, and have it all in one bowl.
Drinks include house-made horchata, Mexican sodas, and hibiscus flower agua fresca.
Stop in Monday through Saturday from 11am-9pm, and check out more of their menu here.
