SUMMERVILLE — Zaxbys, a fast-casual chicken chain, will open a new restaurant in the Carnes Crossroads community on Monday, Oct. 19.
The new restaurant at 201 Corbin St. will be owned and operated by Guernsey Holdings. A grand opening celebration is planned for Nov. 2-8 and will feature daily giveaways, including a Zaxbys Deck of Dealz, branded merchandise and other promotions for customers.
The nearly 3,000-square-foot restaurant will include seating for more than 50 guests and a drive-thru. There will be dedicated parking spaces for curbside pickup and delivery.
Delivery orders also will be available through DoorDash, Uber Eats and ezCater.
The restaurant’s modern farmhouse design incorporates Zaxby’s branding, including the chain’s signature colors, logos and sauce-inspired artwork, stated a press release.
The menu will feature the chain’s made-to-order Chicken Fingerz, wings, chicken bacon ranch quesadillas and fried pickles. For a limited time, customers also can purchase Nerds strawberry milkshakes.
The Summerville location will be Guernsey Holdings’ 47th Zaxby’s restaurant and its 21st in South Carolina. The restaurant is expected to employ up to 60 workers. Applicants can apply in person for available positions.
Founded in 1990, Zaxby’s has grown to more than 1,000 locations across 23 states. The company is headquartered in Atlanta.
Japanese restaurant opens in Nexton
FU-O BBQ, a Japanese restaurant, scheduled a soft opening in Summerville on Oct. 13 and 14 at 44 Sigma Drive.
The restaurant touts that dining there is “more than just a meal — it’s an experience.” Its service is inspired by the Japanese tradition of yakiniku, meaning “grilled meat.” With a smokeless grill at every table, guests can gather around to cook and dine together on premium cuts of beef, chicken, pork and fresh vegetables.
Meals included shared plates, Japanese marinades and sauces, a raw oyster bar and a signature cocktail list that includes sake and soju, as well as local Charleston beers.
