One of San Antonio’s viral favorite Mexican candy stores is expanding to a new location. Here’s what we know about the Southside’s newest sweet spot.

Casa Dulce, which went viral for its fruit ice creams and social media presence, has been teasing its second store for a while. A spokesperson confirmed that the busy roadway of SW Military Drive and Pleasanton Road is home to their latest location, bringing their social media-famous treats and sweets to the Southside. Casa Dulce carries more than 3,000 varieties of Mexican candy on top of piñatas, talavera pottery and more, and it also offers wholesale. It’s been a favorite for sweet-toothed San Antonians on San Pedro Avenue for years, even moving to a bigger location across the street from the original in 2023.

The spokesperson said the SW Military and Pleasanton location will “be a smaller store, but will be carrying all the best sellers and customer favorites.” Shoppers can expect to find Sabritas chips, as well as brands like Vero, Ricolino, De La Rosa, Canels and Lucas.

“Expect all chili powders, assorted candy bags, gummies, traditional Mexican candies such as coconut, tamarind, chamoy, peanuts,” the spokesperson added. “We will also have our big assortment of ‘Tachido’ Japanese-style peanuts. The store concept is the same. We are open to the public but offer wholesale discounts.”

The store is currently open but testing software and still filling up the shelves. They’re also waiting on more shelves, fridges, freezers and merchandise to arrive. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Casa Dulce told MySA the official opening announcement will come this Friday, and a grand opening and ribbon-cutting with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is in the works.
