When you think of Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, pizza probably isn’t the first food that comes to mind. The holiday is full of delicious dishes, from savory snacks like samosas to traditional Indian sweets like laddoos and barfi. Pepperoni and mozzarella? Not exactly at the top of the list.
But who says a holiday celebration can’t make room for something a little unexpected?

Diwali is a time to gather with family and friends, share food and celebrate the triumph of light over darkness. And while traditional dishes are an important part of the festivities, there’s nothing wrong with adding a new favorite to the table. Especially when that favorite brings some familiar Indian flavors along for the ride.
That’s where Sach Foods comes in.
The California-based food company, best known for its fresh paneer, is giving one of America’s favorite comfort foods a decidedly Indian-inspired makeover. Think tandoori spices, creamy tikka masala and plenty of paneer, all piled onto a sourdough pizza crust.
It’s an unexpected combination, sure. But since we already love Indian food and pizza separately, combining the two makes a surprising amount of sense. Just ask fans of taco and Hawaiian pizzas.
With Diwali approaching, these new frozen pizzas could be an easy addition to a holiday gatheringâor a delicious excuse to shake up your usual pizza night.
Sach Foods Is Bringing Indian Flavors to the Frozen Pizza Aisle
Founded in 2019 by first-generation Indian immigrants Jasleen and Tarush Agarwal, Sach Foods started with a mission to make the fresh, protein-rich paneer they grew up eating more accessible to American consumers.
Paneer, a fresh Indian cheese that’s a staple in many Indian dishes, doesn’t melt like mozzarella. Instead, it holds its shape when heated, making it an interestingâand unexpectedâaddition to pizza toppings.
Now, the company is expanding beyond its signature cheese with a lineup of Indian-inspired frozen pizzas that combine traditional flavors with a familiar, convenient format.
Each pizza starts with a fermented, hand-stretched sourdough crust rather than a standard frozen pizza base. The company says the pizzas go from freezer to table in under 15 minutes, making them an appealing option when you’re feeding a crowd or just don’t feel like spending the evening cooking.
And these aren’t your typical cheese-and-pepperoni pies with a sprinkle of curry powder thrown on top. Each variety takes its inspiration from a recognizable Indian dish.

Meet the Three Indian-Inspired Pizzas
The lineup includes three varieties, with options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
Tandoori Veggie Pizza: This vegetarian pizza features a creamy, spiced tandoori sauce topped with bell peppers, mushrooms and red onions. The brand says it delivers 40 grams of protein per pizza.
Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza: Fans of the popular Indian restaurant dish will recognize the combination of tender marinated chicken and a rich, spiced tomato-cream sauce. With 60 grams of protein per pizza, it’s the highest-protein option in the lineup.
Saag Feta & Paneer Pizza: This one might be the most intriguing of the bunch. It combines a creamy saag sauce made with spinach, kale and rapini with tangy feta and Sach’s signature paneer. The result is a vegetarian pizza with 48 grams of protein and a flavor combination you probably won’t find in your average frozen pizza aisle.
Together, the three varieties offer a fun way to explore Indian-inspired flavors without committing to a complicated recipe or a long list of specialty ingredients.
Where Can You Find Sach Foods’ New Pizzas?
Sach Foods introduced the pizzas through a series of Costco roadshows in Texas earlier this year. The company has also announced plans to bring the lineup to Wegmans stores in October, with additional retail expansion expected.
Shoppers who don’t live near a participating store can order the pizzas directly through the Sach Foods website, where they’re sold in multipacks.
Of course, nobody’s suggesting that frozen pizza should replace your family’s favorite Diwali recipes. But for a casual get-together, an easy dinner before the festivities or a late-night snack after the celebration, these Indian-inspired pies offer something a little different.
After all, Diwali and pizza night both bring people together over good food. If you ever need a reason to think outside the pizza box, this might be it.
