A Youngstown Italian restaurant is on Fast Food Club’s Top 7 list of eateries across Ohio to visit.
The list stated it covers seven old-school Italian restaurants where checkered tablecloths, baked pastas, and veal parmigiana still rule the menu.
Cassese’s MVR in Youngstown was among those named on the list.
Cassese’s MVR brings together traditional Italian cooking and the welcoming atmosphere of a longtime neighborhood favorite. The restaurant opened its doors in 1927.
A true taste of Youngstown, the restaurant is known for local classics like its popular greens and meatballs, along with stuffed peppers that deliver a comforting taste of regional tradition.
Other menu items include appetizers like MVR Italian potatoes, calamari, MVR hot chips and more. Pizza lovers can order the smoky hollow pizza, Pat’s pizza or the margarita pizza, to name a few. For those looking for a lighter dish the eatery also offers a fire salad, chicken and steak salad and sandwiches.
Meals generally range from $10 to $20 per person, making MVR an approachable option for families and casual dining. A children’s menu and high chairs make it easy to bring the kids along.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Convenient parking, delivery, and catering services add to its appeal, whether you’re stopping in for dinner or planning a meal for a group.
The restaurant is at 410 North Walnut Street and can be reached at (330) 746-7067.
Other Northeast Ohio restaurants on the list include Luigi’s Restaurant in Akron and Mama Santa’s | Italian in Cleveland.
