It’s official. The signs are already up, and now we wait. A few months ago, I reported that there were rumors of a Jersey Mike’s Subs location going up in The Orchards off of South 72nd Ave in Yakima.

Excitement is building for locals hungry for something new to eat in West Valley. Shout out to Bobby News, who was the first post I noticed on my Facebook feed this morning, who shared that he noticed the Jersey Mike sign had been installed. I stopped by The Orchards shopping plaza this morning to confirm.

The location is going up in the former home of French restaurant, Chez Torrez, which announced in February of this year that it’s spot (210 S 72nd Ave Suite #100) was permanently closing.

Speculation is that the new Jersey Mike’s location will be open by June 2026. According to the Department of Revenue, the sub shop franchise will be handled by Chelan-based co-owners M. Bullat and J. Gates.
The location space is currently going through their electrical inspection, as noted on a sign we viewed that was posted on one of the restaurant’s windows.
