The Goods from Casa Molina
Vancouver, BC | On Monday, November 2, Casa Molina will welcome representatives from Spanish winery Adegas Valmiñor for Atlantic to Pacific: A Winemaker Dinner at Casa Molina, a special evening bringing together Spanish culinary traditions, exceptional Galician wines, and the warmth of Spanish hospitality.
Led by Spanish Chef Javier Blanc, Casa Molina will bring a little piece of Spain to Vancouver through a seven-course dining experience featuring traditional Spanish ingredients, carefully selected wine pairings, and the opportunity to meet the people behind Adegas Valmiñor.
Travelling from Galicia to Vancouver, representatives of the winery will join guests throughout the evening, sharing their stories firsthand and introducing diners to the wines, culture, and winemaking traditions of Spain’s Atlantic coast.
“For us, Spanish food has always been about bringing people together. This dinner is an opportunity to share our culinary traditions alongside exceptional wines from Galicia, Spain, and the stories of the people behind them. We want our guests to feel like they’re sitting around a table in Spain, enjoying great food, wonderful wines, and good company. That’s what Spanish hospitality is all about,” says Chef Javier Blanc of Casa Molina.
For this special collaboration, Chef Blanc will present a six-course menu celebrating Spanish cuisine, accompanied by wines showcasing the distinctive character of Galicia.
The dinner will feature oysters, clams, grilled Spanish octopus, seafood fideuà, and Iberian pork, followed by a traditional Tarta de Santiago.
Each course will be accompanied by carefully selected wines from Adegas Valmiñor, highlighting the distinctive character of Galicia and its Atlantic-influenced winemaking traditions.
The experience begins with a welcome vermouth and concludes with a traditional Galician orujo.
Beyond the menu and wine pairings, the evening offers guests an opportunity to connect directly with the people behind the wines.
Representatives visiting from Galicia will share their experiences, the stories behind the winery, and the traditions that shape their wines.
For Chef Blanc and Casa Molina, the collaboration reflects a fundamental part of Spanish hospitality: gathering around a table, sharing good food and wine, and enjoying the company of others.
The dinner brings together two coastlines, the Atlantic coast of Galicia and the Pacific coast of British Columbia, through a shared appreciation for food, wine, and culture.
