As the epicenter of Asian dining in Central Jersey, Edison is where plenty of international restaurant groups have made their New Jersey debuts.
Now, Wagyu Factory, which features interactive, tableside-grilled wagyu from around the world alongside buffets of Asian eats, has joined them with its opening at 1763 Route 27, near H-Mart, on Friday, Oct. 23.
The Edison location is the eatery’s seventh, following locations in California, Washington, Texas and Florida. It’s known for its Japanese, Australian and American wagyu, prized for its intense flavor and buttery-soft texture.
“Our vision for Wagyu Factory was to take premium wagyu and make it approachable, exciting and endlessly satisfying,” said David Zhao, co-founder of Chubby Group, which owns Wagyu Factory as well as several other dining concepts.
Wagyu Factory offers tableside grilling with a variety of wagyu and other meats, including beef tongue, pork belly and chicken wings, as well as a buffet of seafood, vegetables, hot dishes, fried items, steamed dumplings, sushi and desserts.

The menu also includes Asian dishes such as wagyu fried rice, wagyu stir-fry udon, fried chicken, shrimp tempura, takoyaki, xiaolongbao, lobster dumplings, sushi and egg tarts.
Guests can customize each bite with a range of sauces, seasonings and dipping vegetables, from barbecue sauce and garlic sauce to chili, kimchi, seaweed salad, green onions, lettuce, cucumber and more.
Customers have 90 minutes to indulge in the all-you-can-eat experience. Prices are not yet available for the Edison restaurant, but at one California location, prices range from about $26 to $50 per person. Customers can also become members to receive a discount.
Wagyu Factory is designed to be more than a meal. The restaurant combines a modern industrial look with a lively, interactive dining format, allowing guests to cook at the table and explore the buffet.
Chubby Group, which has headquarters in the United States, China and Japan, owns 35 restaurant concepts, including X Pot, Chubby Cattle BBQ, NIKU X and MIKIYA Shabu.
