WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Rumors are stirring across the nation’s capital about a restaurant that will open its doors to the public this year – Slutty Vegan.
The rumors began swirling about the viral restaurant on June 3 after the founder, Pinky Cole Hayes, posted on her Instagram, “Slutty Vegan D.C! 521 H Street Northeast COMING SOON.”

The Black-owned restaurant serves burgers, fries, drinks and sweets. The establishment is known for its bold flavors and sandwich combinations.
Each burger or sandwich is filled with toppings that create unique combinations, featuring the restaurant’s very own “Slut Sauce.” One burger, titled “Dancehall Queen,” includes a plant-based patty loaded with sweet jerk plantains, vegan cheese, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes, topped on a Hawaiian bun.

The founder of the Atlanta-based restaurant launched the business in July 2018, when she started selling plant-based burgers through Instagram. Months later, Cole opened the doors to the first storefront in October.
Now, Slutty Vegan has five locations in the U.S., including Baltimore, New York City and Georgia.
But as the vegan restaurant continues to grow, Hayes said she is partnering with two franchise owners, Khadejah Davis and Jamel Douglas, to assist with the company’s next growth phase. Specifically with the D.C. location, Brandi Forte will lead development efforts across the market.
Atlanta is where Slutty Vegan was born, and we’re planting deeper roots here while establishing our presence in D.C.,” said Hayes. “I was intentional about partnering with operators who understand our business and the culture because this is bigger than the burgers. We’re creating opportunity, legacy and proving what’s possible when you never give up.”
In 2026, Cole joined the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast for season 17. She made her debut on the Bravo TV show in April 2026, sharing a glimpse of her life as a wife, mother and business owner.
