SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A longtime Savannah eatery is preparing to welcome national cameras this month.
Driftaway Cafe will host a visit from “America’s Best Restaurants,” a national media and marketing company, for an on-site shoot as part of the ABR Roadshow on Nov. 18.
The show travels across the country spotlighting independent, locally owned restaurants that make an impact on their communities. During the visit, the production team will highlight the cafe on-camera and conduct an extensive interview with owners Robyn and Michele Quattlebaum about the restaurant’s role in Savannah.
Known for its neighborhood atmosphere, Driftaway Cafe has served the area for more than 25 years. The restaurant originally moved to its current location at 7400 Skidaway Road near the Isle of Hope and historic Wormsloe to make way for a hospital project.
“For 25 years, Driftaway Cafe has been a locally owned Savannah neighborhood restaurant built around fresh seafood, great food, familiar faces and the kind of place locals return to again and again,” the owners said in a statement.
Beyond seafood staples and popular dishes like tuna tartare, firecracker shrimp and blueberry salmon, the cafe regularly supports local organizations and youth sports teams across the Coastal Empire.
The completed episode will premiere at a later date across America’s Best Restaurants’ social channels, website and YouTube page, with the official air date announced on Driftaway Cafe’s Facebook page.
